Security Issues, the Military Situation and the Citizens’ Needs were Topics of Al-Burhan’s Discussions with Three Governors

Sudan’s Sovereignty Council President, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, discussed on Thursday with the governors of Al-Qadarif, Al-Gezira, and West Kordofan the security and military situations and citizens’ needs. This came during separate meetings between al-Burhan and the three governors in Port Sudan, Red Sea State, according to a statement from the Sovereignty Council.

Al-Qadarif Governor Mohamed Abdul Rahman Mahjoub stated in a press statement that he briefed the Sovereignty Council President on the overall security situation in the state and the efforts made to provide the necessary needs for the citizens. He pointed out that the meeting addressed the President’s directives on the importance of finding a fundamental solution to the water issue in Al-Qadarif State.

The governor emphasised the government’s and the state’s solidarity with the armed forces to deter the rebel militia and its supporters. Al-Gezira State Governor Al-Khair Ibrahim Al-Tahir stated after he met with al-Burhan that the meeting discussed the developments and current situations in the state.

He noted that the President affirmed his support for the state in achieving victory over the rebel militia and the necessity of caring for citizens’ livelihoods and providing necessary services for them. West Kordofan Governor Essam al-Din Haroun Ahmed stated that he briefed al-Burhan on the overall security, service, health, and humanitarian situations, as well as efforts to achieve stability and development in the state.

The governor said the President affirmed his support for efforts to achieve security and stability, confirming the readiness of the government and the state’s residents to stand with the armed forces as they fight the Battle for Dignity against the rebellious terrorist RSF militia.
