Port Sudan – almohagig

Today, the Federal Ministry of Health launched a grant provided by the Islamic Dawah Organization (MADA), consisting of three containers carrying (90) tons of medicines and medical supplies worth two million dollars.

During the inauguration, the Acting Federal Minister of Health, Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim stated that the ministry had received the support provided by MADA, which includes heart monitoring and examination devices for laboratories and injuries, thanking MADA for its continuous efforts and support to the ministry.

He also thanked international organisations and donors for their continuous support to Sudan. He also sent messages to global and regional organisations about the ministry’s readiness to receive grants and overcome all obstacles.

He emphasised that the ministry is ready to implement any project organisations wish to implement. He added that the gap is still significant. The Minister confirmed that the ministry is working to strengthen the supply and needs to provide pharmaceutical supplies and equipment, pointing to opening the reconstruction file and building for health institutions that were destroyed due to the war.

For his part, the Minister of Social Development, Ahmed Adam Bakheit, emphasised the importance of the MADA’s role in Sudan in supporting the poor and needy.

He criticised the decision of the Decree of Dismantling the NS Regime to stop MADA’s activities, revealing the damage to poor families as a result. He pointed out that MADA continued to support many orphans and vulnerable groups in addition to its work in disaster prevention, noting its long history in humanitarian and advocacy work and the establishment of many projects.

The Secretary-General of MADA, Ahmed Mohammed Adam, announced the continuation of support for the health sector, especially in light of the current conditions in the country, explaining that this is the second grant. He also mentioned the distribution of some materials and food baskets to the displaced in the states.
