Jabir Chairs the UN Engagement Committee

Brigadier Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, a member of the Sovereignty Council, chaired yesterday, Thursday, the meeting of the High Committee for Dealing with the United Nations.
The meeting addressed the need to activate the media plan to confront attempts to exploit humanitarian aid for other purposes and to control internal and external discourse, especially regarding exposing violations against women and children, the occupation of citizens’ homes, and core issues related to state sovereignty, as well as the problem of making the rebellion equal to the State.
The Acting Minister of Culture and Information and the official spokesperson for the committee, Graham Abdul Qadir, said in a press statement that the meeting discussed a detailed report on the Paris Conference and what took place therein, the State’s position on the conference and its outcomes, and follow-ups that strengthen national will.
He added that the meeting discussed a report on the efforts of the National Coordination Expert Team regarding UN Security Council Resolution 1591 concerning Darfur.
