Port Sudan – almohagig

The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, was briefed on the country’s legal and judicial performance, the results of Sudan’s participation in the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, and the positions supporting the Sudanese cause in international forums.

Agar stressed, during a meeting in his office in Port Sudan on Sunday with the in-charge Minister of Justice, Dr. Muawiyah Muhammad Khair Ahmed, the necessity of activating and reviewing all laws, legislation and international agreements that concern Sudan.

Agar pledged to provide the necessary support to activate the role of the Ministry of Justice, enabling it to assume its sovereign role in the next stage.

The Minister of Justice said in a press statement that the meeting discussed the ministry’s performance, its plan, and the challenges that hinder it from carrying out its role in legal and legislative reform in the country.

The Minister presented a report to the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council on Sudan’s participation in the 55th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, which was held from February 26 to April 5, in which Sudan demanded that there should be no equality between the national army and the terrorist rebel Rapid Support militias.

The minister added that the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council stressed the necessity of building and strengthening relations with brotherly and friendly countries in all legal fields.
