Agar Reviews Arrangements for the Retrieve of Government Workforces’ Data

The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, was briefed on the Ministry of Labor and Administrative Reform’s performance in the public and private sectors during the past period and its plans for the next stage.

When he met in his office in Port Sudan on Monday, Acting Minister of Labor and Administrative Reform Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Agar stressed the importance of activating the civil service’s role in developing the performance of state workers.

The Vice President of the Sovereignty Council pledged to support projects related to employing graduates, financing productive projects, and financing workshops concerned with employment and employment policy and resolving the issues of state workers, according to what was stated in a statement published by the media of the Transitional Sovereignty Council.

The meeting discussed the ministry’s decisions related to rationalising spending, stopping appointment and promotion, stopping the extension of civil service beyond 65 years, and contracting based on the directives of the state’s general budget, which were approved by the Sovereign Council and became an effective law.

Regarding immigration and employment offices at home and abroad, the Minister of Labor stated that the Ministry presented an ambitious plan in this aspect in cooperation with the International Labor Organization, the Arab Labor Organization, the African Centre, the Arab Development Organization and all the organisations that Sudan deals with.

The minister confirmed that the ministry is seeking to restore the database of state workers that was destroyed by the rebel Rapid Support militia.
