The US Special Envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, thanked the Human Rights Watch organization for its documented account of the ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity committed by the Rapid Support militia, especially in West Darfur.
The envoy indicated, in a tweet on his X account, that in December 2023, Secretary Blinken confirmed that members of the Rapid Support Forces and allied militias had committed these atrocities, pointing out that history will not forget, and the United States’ support for accountability against those responsible for those crimes.
The envoy renewed his thanks to the Human Rights Watch organization and to the many brave Sudanese who testified to make this report possible.
