Humanitarian Negotiations with the SPLM/N Postponed

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Sudan, Ramadan Abdullah, Secretary-General of the South Sudan Mediation Committee, sponsor of negotiations on the humanitarian situation in the states of South and West Kordofan and Blue Nile, announced that the joint session held this afternoon (Sunday) will be the last consultation session in the first round.

He added that the parties will return for further consultation and discussion with their leadership regarding the nature of some of the technical issues raised in the past sessions.

The minister confirmed that the mediation will soon announce a new date after all parties submit their views on the various points.

In addition, the Secretary-General of the Southern Mediation thanked the Sudanese parties for responding to the call for dialogue and sitting for the purpose of delivering humanitarian aid to those in need as soon as possible.
