The Federal Ministry of Health condemned the continued targeting of citizens, institutions and health cadres by the Rapid Support Forces militias in various parts of Sudan, especially in Darfur.
A press release issued by the ministry on Monday said that the militia had previously attacked Babiker Nahar Health Center and El Fasher Saudi Hospital for Women and Maternity, and now the city’s Southern Hospital, which is a violation of international norms and laws.
The Rapid Support Forces militia had targeted the southern hospital in El Fasher (capital of North Darfur, western Sudan) on Saturday evening, assaulting the health cadres working there, and looting medicines and medical supplies, putting it out of service.
The Sudanese army and its allies in the joint force of armed struggle movements were able to confront and repel the attack after it caused some losses to civilian objects.
