Agar Reviews the Results of the Meetings of the Arab Ministers of Media and Journalism in Manama

The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Agar Air, reviewed the outcomes of the 54th session of the Arab Ministers of Media and Journalism Conference in the Bahraini capital, Manama, and the expected results for the development and growth of the media sector in the Arab world.

During a meeting in his office in Port Sudan today, on Wednesday, with the Acting Minister of Media and Journalism, Dr. Graham Abdel Qader, he stressed the importance of the role of the media at this stage in unifying the internal and external discourse, especially with regard to the violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Militia against the Sudanese citizen and his dignity.

Agar stressed the need to raise the national sense, reject hate speech, combat racist and tribal sentiments, mend the social fabric, and call for the cohesion of the internal front through various media outlets.

He stressed the need to establish economic partnerships that serve the sectors of culture, tourism, and media, enabling them to play their role as required.

For his part, the Minister of Journalism said that he informed the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council of the outcomes and contents of the Manama Conference and the meetings held with Arab Ministers of Information, in addition to cultural issues and their requirements and the efforts made to develop the media, culture and tourism sector in a way that contributes to the public interest of the country.
