The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, described today (Sunday) the bombing carried out by the Rapid Support (RSF) militia on the only Saudi Maternity Hospital in El-Fasher as “shocking and horrific.”
Adhanom posted on the “X” platform saying: “Two days ago, we witnessed a new shocking and horrific attack on a hospital in Sudan, the Saudi Maternity Hospital, the only one providing health care for mothers and children in El-Fasher.”
The “Doctors Without Borders” also announced in a statement that “a bombing by the RSF on the night of Friday, June 21, targeted the pharmacy of the Saudi Maternity Hospital supported by the organization in El-Fasher, killing a female pharmacist while she was working and damaging the building.
The Federal Ministry of Health condemned, in a statement, the bombing of the Saudi hospital, describing it as a crime and a violation of international humanitarian law and all international norms.
