Port Sudan – almohagig
Senior government sources who spoke to Almohagig described the visit that Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is scheduled to make, on Tuesday, to Port Sudan as very important.
The sources expected the visit to be short, noting that it would be limited to a closed meeting between the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, noting that the visit and discussions fall within the framework of efforts to advance bilateral relations and regional efforts to contain the political and humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
Adding that the visit anticipates the meeting that the African Union called for through the Peace and Security Council Summit last week to bring together the Sudanese political forces in Addis Ababa the day after tomorrow, on Wednesday.
During his recent address to the Ethiopian Parliament, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stressed his keenness to achieve peace and security in Sudan, considering that Sudan’s security is important to his country and the regional region.
