Ambassador Mohammed Saeed Hassan presented his credentials to His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of the sister Republic of Djibouti (Monday) as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sudan to Djibouti.
Following the presentation of credentials, a brief meeting was held during which President Guelleh expressed his government’s keen interest in the situation in Sudan since April of last year and reaffirmed his government’s political and diplomatic support for all efforts and endeavours towards achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and peace.
The ambassador conveyed greetings from the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and his keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Mohammed Saeed also expressed his appreciation for Djibouti’s interest and follow-up on the situation in Sudan, noting that today marks one year since the beginning of the rebellion of the Rapid Support Forces militia and its war on Sudan, its infrastructure, identity, and citizens. He affirmed that the armed forces have taken the initiative and are advancing on all fronts.
