A Plan Ministry of Minerals to Expand Investments in El Gedaref State

The acting governor of the El Gedaref State, Major General Eng. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, urged the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company to redouble their efforts and increase investment opportunities in the mining sector. He emphasized that this expansion would not only attract new companies and increase revenues but also significantly contribute to the national economy, foster development, and enhance services for citizens, painting a promising future for the mining sector in the state.

This came during his meeting with the Director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited in Gedaref State, Omar Malik Abu Sin, in the presence of the Director of the Office of the General Authority for Geological Research in the state, Geologist Khaled Al-Daw.

The governor stressed the need to provide all forms of support to the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited and the Geological Research Authority to advance the mining sector in Gedaref State.

The meeting discussed all issues related to mining activity in the state and ways to develop it to increase production and maximise public revenues. Abu Sin provided a detailed briefing to the Governor of Gedaref State on the progress of work in mining activity during the previous period. He revealed a plan to expand investments that include securing markets, doubling efforts in environmental aspects, and following safety tools.

Abu Sin applauded the high coordination with the state government, local security committees, and auxiliary security agencies in implementing the ministry’s policies. He highlighted the stability of work in the mining markets and the sites of companies operating in the state. Abu Sin also shared the good news of the progress in a number of social responsibility projects, reassuring the audience of the company’s commitment to the community.
