Agar Confirms the Government’s Keenness to Deliver Humanitarian Aid

The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik Agar Air, affirmed the government’s endeavor and keenness to deliver humanitarian aid to those who deserve it and facilitate the work of relief teams.

During a meeting in his office in Port Sudan today (Tuesday) with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Sudan, Pierre Dorbus, he affirmed Sudan’s openness to all initiatives presented by international and regional organizations and bodies with regard to providing humanitarian aid within the framework of the Sudanese vision that guarantees and preserves the full rights of the Sudanese people.

For his part, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross provided a complete enlightenment on the organization’s activities and the conduct of humanitarian operations, pointing out the necessity of agreement and integration of roles with the government in implementing humanitarian activities and operations.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Sudanese government for hosting the organization and its cooperation regarding the delivery of aid, stressing the Red Cross’s keenness to support and protect victims of armed conflicts.
