Tripoli – AlMohagig
The President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, held a bilateral meeting in which they discussed strengthening bilateral relations and ways to support the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples.
Al-Burhan briefed the President of the Presidential Council on the developments in the situation in Sudan against the backdrop of the rebellion of the terrorist Rapid Support militia against the state, which resulted in the targeting of civilians, the killing of defenceless innocents, and the sabotage of vital institutions, installations, and infrastructure projects.
He stressed that despite all these violations committed by this terrorist militia, the government of Sudan responded by sitting with it at the Jeddah podium to end the suffering of the Sudanese, and an agreement was reached last May, according to which these forces would leave the homes of citizens to agreed-upon locations. However, it did not comply with that and continued its war on innocent citizens.
Al-Burhan appreciated the positive positions of the State of Libya towards Sudan expressed by the exiled President in regional and international forums, calling for and supporting Sudan’s unity, national security and stability, and rejecting negative foreign interference in the two brotherly countries.
For his part, Al-Manfi affirmed Libya’s support for Sudan and its support for its unity, security and territorial integrity, indicating that Sudan is an essential country for Libya, and its stability and cohesion cannot be neglected. He added that Libya’s efforts to reach peace in Sudan are a commitment and responsibility towards this brotherly country, stressing that these efforts will continue until they bear fruit.
Stressing that they look forward to bringing stability and peace to Sudan soon, given the importance Sudan represents in the region and the great goodness, prosperity, growth and development that is promised to it.
