Within the framework of the Arab Republic of Egypt’s keenness to make all possible efforts to help Sudan overcome the crisis, it is going through and to address its severe repercussions for the Sudanese people and the security and stability of the region, especially Sudan’s neighbouring countries.
This is based on the fraternal and deep historical and social ties that link the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples and on Egypt’s commitment to supporting all efforts to achieve peace and stability in Sudan.
At the end of June 2024, the Arab Republic of Egypt will host a conference that includes all Sudanese civil political forces in the presence of relevant regional and international partners, with the aim of reaching a consensus between the various Sudanese civil political forces on ways to build comprehensive and lasting peace in Sudan through Sudanese-to-Sudanese national dialogue, to be established on a purely Sudanese vision.
The Egyptian call is rooted in a steadfast belief that the current conflict in Sudan is fundamentally a Sudanese issue. It asserts that any future political process must encompass all active national parties on the Sudanese scene. This commitment is underpinned by a deep respect for the principles of Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, non-interference in its internal affairs, and the preservation of the state and its institutions.
Egypt is organizing this conference as a testament to its ongoing efforts and endeavours to halt the ongoing war in Sudan. It is a collaborative endeavour designed to integrate with the efforts of regional and international partners, particularly Sudan’s neighbouring countries, the parties to the Jeddah talks, the United Nations, the African Union, the League of Arab States, and the IGAD Organization.
And looks forward to the active participation of all Sudanese civil political forces and relevant regional and international partners in joined efforts to ensure the conference’s success in achieving the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
