Minister of Justice: We Trust in Saudi Efforts to Support Humanitarian Conditions in Sudan

Minister of Justice Dr. Muaawiya Osman Mohamed Khair, on the sidelines of his participation in the 55th session of the Human Rights Council, met with Dr. Hala bint Muzaid Al-Tuwaijri, President of the Human Rights Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the minister praised the distinguished longstanding relations between Sudan and the Kingdom in various political, popular, economic, and humanitarian fields, noting that the Kingdom has remained the first partner for Sudan, especially in addressing crises. He added that the Jeddah platform is the best evidence of the Kingdom’s keenness on the security and stability of Sudan and its people. He also affirmed the Sudanese government’s confidence and reliance on the efforts of the Kingdom in this regard. The minister expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the Kingdom’s supportive positions for Sudan in the humanitarian and relief field. He also applauded the cooperation between the two countries in the legal and judicial fields and the coordination between the ministries of justice in both countries, affirming Sudan’s keenness on continuing bilateral cooperation and coordination in international and regional forums. The minister also briefed Dr. Hala on the developments of the political and security situations in the country following the rebellion of the terrorist Rapid Support Forces, which committed all forms of human rights violations and violations of international humanitarian law against the Sudanese people. For her part, Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri affirmed that what the Kingdom is doing is from the core of its duty towards the Sudanese people, who have contributed to the development of the Kingdom in the fields of health, education and others, and that the Kingdom will spare no effort in providing the necessary support to Sudan, emphasizing the importance of continuing the cooperation and coordination between the two missions in Geneva, especially in the Human Rights Council, and expressing her wishes for the return of stability and peace in Sudan.
