Minister of Mining Undertakes to Facilitate the Entry of Foreign Entities

Port Sudan – almohagig

Minister of Minerals Mohammed Bashir Abdullah pledged to settle issues related to foreign workers’ entry and residency procedures in mining companies.
The Sudanese minister renewed his commitment to engage with the state leadership to resolve the problems facing the Myas Sand Mining Company.

During his meeting today with the director of the company, Mr. Brent, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Executive Ministerial Office Director and the Acting General Manager of the Sudanese Company for Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, there was a call for preparing a detailed report on the encroachments that occurred against the company and the steps taken so that the ministry can implement measures to prevent their recurrence in the future.

Myas Sand is an Australian company operating in mining areas in the northern and eastern regions of the country.

Sudan relies on gold as a primary source of foreign currency amid its deteriorating economic conditions due to the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces rebels since last year.
