Statement by Sudan Before a Human Rights Council Session Tomorrow

The Sudanese Minister of Justice Muawiyah Othman Muhammad Khair will present, today, Sudan’s statement during the high-level general debate of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

According to AlMohagig’s sources, Sudan’s main statement will be presented by the Minister of Justice during the enhanced dialogue session on the human rights situation in Sudan, scheduled to be held next Friday.

AlMohagig learned that the Government of Sudan submitted to the Office of the High Commissioner and the President of the Human Rights Council a comprehensive response in which it demanded the correction of some of the facts contained in the report on the human rights situation in Sudan.

The Minister of Justice, who is the head of the Sudanese delegation will be participating in the session’s meetings, and is scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the session’s work with the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the President of the Human Rights Council, and some heads of international organizations, separately.

The Minister will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with his ministerial counterparts from friendly countries.

The Minister arrived in Geneva today, heading the Sudanese delegation participating in the fifty-fifth session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
