Sudan Showcases RSF Violations to Diplomatic Missions in Juba

Juba – Al-Muhaggig

Sudan’s Deputy Head of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, presented a documentary to the ambassadors of the Troika countries, the European Union, and African groups in Juba, giving details of the violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

Following the conclusion of his visit to the capital of South Sudan, Agar stated: ‘My three-day visit to the Republic of South Sudan concluded with two separate meetings. The first meeting included a group of ambassadors and heads of missions from the Troika countries and the European Union in South Sudan. This was followed by another meeting with African ambassadors and a representative from the African Union in South Sudan. Accompanying me was the Sudanese Ambassador to Juba, Ambassador Jamal Malik. During these meetings, a film documenting the crimes and violations committed by the rebellious RSF was screened. These included killings, rape of women, racial targeting of citizens, destruction of infrastructure, and other violations of international humanitarian law and human rights by the rebel forces.’

Agar added, according to a statement from the Sovereignty Council: ‘I also discussed the evolution stages of the RSF from the Janjaweed forces to the Border Guard Forces, then to rebel forces in 2023. I emphasised to them that the Sudanese government is open and working to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people and to end the war in a way that preserves the sovereignty, unity, and national security of the country.’

Agar reiterated that ‘there can be no talk of any political process under the sound of gunfire and bullets. The current attempts by some are nothing but off-target shots that will not achieve any results. The slogans of the rebel forces, whether about bringing democracy or fighting Islamists, have failed the test of international humanitarian law and international human rights law through a series of violations committed by the rebel forces in all the areas they entered in Sudan.’

He continued: ‘The meeting concluded with a warning about the consequences of what will happen in the Horn of Africa region if Sudan collapses, and the details of its impact on the entire region.
