Sudanese Foreign Ministry: The American Envoy did not Apply for a Visa

Port Sudan – almohagig

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that its embassy in Washington had not received a visa request from the American envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello.

Almohagig saw this in a statement to the press by the ministry’s official spokesman’s office.

The statement, issued with utmost clarity by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to correct the inaccuracy of the statements attributed to the American envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, claiming that the Sudanese government refused to grant him a visa to enter the country.

It continued: “The Sudanese embassy in Washington or in any other capital has not received any request from Mr Perriello for a visa, and the Sudanese embassy in Washington has consulted the US State Department regarding these supposed statements, and the latter confirmed that the special envoy did not make such statements.”
