A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Almohagig, says, “As an extension of the crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by the terrorist militia in various parts of the country, the militia detained several trucks carrying humanitarian aid from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on their way to El-Fasher to contribute to containing the food and health crisis in the displaced camps, especially the spread of malnutrition among children.”

The ministry continued, “At the same time, the terrorist militia has begun to implement its declared threats to prevent the arrival of humanitarian aid convoys through the Deba-Milit-Al-Fasher route, where it has mobilised its mercenaries near Milit to block the road for humanitarian aid convoys and seize those aids.”

The ministry added, “Coinciding with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the militia intensified its attacks on safe villages in the states of Gezira, North and South Kordofan. In Gezira state alone, the militia attacked twenty-eight villages during the past two weeks, killing forty-three civilians, looting the properties and food crops of the villagers, and turning a large number of them into displaced and homeless.”

The ministry pointed out that these ongoing crimes confirm that the militia has turned into criminal gangs and bands of armed robbery, rape, and terrorism.” This fact will not hide the futile and desperate propaganda efforts of the militia’s sponsors, such as talking about civilian administration in Gezira state, according to the statement.

The ministry mentioned that this comes in conjunction with the international media revealing the reality of the tragedy experienced by the villages and towns of Gezira, under the grip of the terrorist militia, such as the investigative report of the American CNN channel, which documented the practices of the terrorist militia against villagers, including acts of robbery and forced recruitment of children, embodying what civilian administration means for the militia.

The ministry welcomed the growing international awareness of the reality of this militia and its targeting of civilians, especially women and children, and the successive condemnations of it, along with acknowledging that it cannot achieve any victory over the armed forces, the hundred-year-old national army, as stated by the US envoy, Mr Tom Perriello.

The ministry said, “The shortest way to end the suffering of the Sudanese people, end the humanitarian crisis, and stop the war is to compel the sponsors of the militia to stop providing it with arms, money, and mercenaries, with strict implementation of the Jeddah agreements, especially regarding the evacuation of civilian properties, homes, cities, and villages attacked by the militia after signing the Humanitarian Principles Declaration.
