Undersecretary of the Ministry of Animal Wealth to AlMohagig: $0.5b from Animal Wealth Exports Last Year

AlMohagig – Nazik Shamam

The Ministry of Animal Wealth revealed that the export of animal wealth reached nearly half a billion dollars last year. The ministry’s undersecretary, Hassan Altoum, announced that the volume of animal wealth exports reached $552,462,251 for 2023.

Altoum explained to Al-Muhaqqiq that the total exports of live animal wealth reached 4,426,313 heads, while meat exports amounted to 5,894,756 tons. ‘Despite the war in the country, the export of animal wealth is progressing regularly and without interruption,’ he said, noting that Saudi Arabia imports animal wealth from Sudan the most.

Altoum acknowledged that the export of animal wealth faces several obstacles, including states taxes and fees imposed on exports, which reduce external competitiveness, and the infrastructure for supporting exports, especially veterinary quarries and laboratories.
